Winyl is a free audio player with basic functions and a cool interface wherewith we can keep our music collection organized. One of its most salient characteristics is that it is a light-weight application that loads really fast, providing a decent sound quality, without wasting system resources or memory.
For one thing, it supports most widely used audio file types, among them, MP3, WAV, WMA, and OGG. After loading our music folders and files, the program will quickly organize them according to their tags into artist, albums, genres, and release years. It offers the basic controls to play our music, and allows us to create playlists. However, it still lacks some other basic features - for example, repeat tracks and playlists, shuffle, etc.
On the other hand, apart from being a music player, Winyl offers access to an impressive list of online radio stations from all over the world, neatly organized into genres and years. Moreover, if you are a Last.Fm user, you can activate the scrobbler and keep your profile updated with the music you listen in Winyl.
On the visual side, it has a clean layout, with a very simple but elegant design that offers two different views. The program comes with 6 skins, and allows you to download more from the author's site.
To sum up, it is a very good audio player, with basic functions and a decent sound quality, specially recommended for those who want to conserve system resources. |
